Scholarship Description

The University of Western Australia is offering a $5,000 per year fee reduction for students from a range of select countries, either studying on campus in Perth or online if you can’t make it to Australia. The International Student Award helps to foster a diverse student community and enables more students from different nationalities to pursue their study and career goals with UWA.

The International Student Award is a scholarship offered to International students for study at the University of Western Australia to helps to foster a diverse range of student community and enables more students from different nationalities to pursue their study and career goals with UWA.

To be able to qualify for these award, you must be citizen of either of the following countries; Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand or Vietnam, you must apply to the University of Western Australia as an international student on an Australian student visa, must have enrolled to study a full-time course load and undergraduate students can get up to AUD $20,000 off course fees over a four-year degree or AUD $15,000 over three years.

Postgraduate students can receive up to AUD$10,000 over two years on eligible courses.

The University of Western Australia is the sixth-oldest university in Australia and until the establishment of Murdoch University in 1973, was Western Australia’s only university. It is a public research university in the Australian state of Western Australia. The university’s main campus is in Perth, the state capital, with another campus in Albany and various other facilities elsewhere.

UWA was established in 1911 by an act of the Parliament of Western Australia and began teaching students two years later. Because of its age and reputation, UWA is classed one of the “sandstone universities”, an informal designation given to the oldest university in each state.

Scholarship Benefits

Undergraduate students will get up to AUD $20,000 off course fees over a four-year degree or AUD $15,000 over three years and Postgraduate students will receive up to AUD$10,000 over two years on eligible courses.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the International Student Award, you must:

  • Be a citizen from; Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand or Vietnam
  • have applied to the University of Western Australia as an international student on an Australian student visa
  • Be studying an approved undergraduate or postgraduate course offered by the University and published in the UWA Handbook
  • have enrolled to study a full-time course load

Application

When you submit your application to UWA, The admissions team will automatically confirm your eligibility for the Award. If you are eligible, your offer letter will include the International Student Award.
