Responsibilities:

1. Livestock Care: Monitor the health and well-being of poultry, including chickens and other fowl. Provide proper feed, water, and environmental conditions to ensure the overall welfare of the animals.
2. Egg Collection: Regularly collect eggs from nesting areas, handle them carefully, and ensure they are stored appropriately.
3. Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in poultry housing, feeding areas, and equipment. Regularly clean and disinfect the premises to prevent the spread of diseases.
4. Feeding and Nutrition: Assist in feeding poultry with the appropriate diet and nutrition as per farm guidelines. Monitor feed consumption and report any irregularities.
5. Health Observation: Observe poultry for signs of illness or distress and report any health issues to the farm supervisor or veterinarian.
6. Egg Grading and Packing: Sort and grade eggs based on size and quality standards. Pack eggs for shipment according to established procedures.
7. Facility Maintenance: Assist in the repair and maintenance of poultry farm facilities and equipment. Report any maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
8. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, egg production, and any notable incidents. Ensure that data is recorded in a timely and organized manner.
9. Biosecurity Compliance: Follow biosecurity protocols to prevent the introduction and spread of diseases within the farm.
10. Work Safety: Adhere to all safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in poultry farming or agriculture is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• A genuine love for animals and a strong sense of responsibility towards their welfare.
• Willingness to work on weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime during peak seasons.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Basic understanding of biosecurity measures in a farm setting.
