Job Summary:
As an Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) at OSR Medical Ltd, you will be responsible for the routine non-emergency and non-routine emergency/urgent care transport of patients to/from hospitals in Urgent Care settings.
Your role will involve working as part of a team on a double crewed ambulance, providing exceptional care by aligning with our values and vision.
Main Duties of the Job:
- Start of Shift Routine: Each day begins at the ambulance station or unit. You will maintain constant communication with the control room, ensuring they are informed of your location and ready to provide instructions.
- Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Achieve and maintain competence in all relevant skills and knowledge through ongoing CPD events. Maintain a personal development and reflective portfolio through the CPD system.
- Vehicle and Equipment Checks: Perform comprehensive checks on vehicles and equipment at the start, during, and end of each shift to ensure the ambulance is ready to respond effectively.
- Teamwork and Support: Actively participate in fostering a first-class working environment by treating all colleagues equally, working collaboratively as a team, and supporting, caring for, and encouraging colleagues to excel in patient care. - Additional Duties: Be prepared to perform any other duties as required, as appropriate to your responsibilities, grade, skill set, and qualifications, as deemed necessary by OSR Medical Ltd management.
- Emergency Driving: If appropriately qualified and licensed, undertake emergency driving duties on all types of vehicles operated by the company.
- Pre-hospital Life Support: Provide pre-hospital life support to critically ill patients, always acting within the scope of practice.
- Duty of Care: Exercise complete duty of care to the patient and relatives until such time as a safe transfer of duty of care can occur.
- Incident Reporting: Identify, assess, and report all incidents involving Vulnerable Adults and children.

Essential:
- English and Maths at a level 2 qualification (GCSE/Level 2 NVQ/Functional Skills)
- Relevant skills and knowledge gained through work and life experience

- Crisis Management: Quick and calm reactions in emergency situations
- Physical and Mental Fitness: Physical and mental fitness is crucial, as this job is physically demanding and challenging
- Adaptability: Ability to follow directions and adapt to changing circumstances
- Driving License: You must possess a full manual driving license with less than 6 penalty points, held for 12 months with a provisional or full C1 category entitlement
