Key Responsibilities:

Personal Care and Support:

• Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide support with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure safety and comfort.
• Help clients with dressing, meal preparation, and feeding according to their specific needs.
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs as instructed by healthcare professionals.

Companionship and Emotional Support:

• Foster a caring and supportive relationship with clients, offering companionship and emotional support.
• Engage in meaningful conversations, actively listen, and participate in activities that promote mental stimulation.
• Offer reassurance, encouragement, and assistance in maintaining social connections.

Household Assistance:

• Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients by organizing and maintaining their living spaces.
• Assist with grocery shopping and running errands as needed.

Health Monitoring and Reporting:

• Observe and document changes in clients’ health conditions, behaviors, and responses to care.
• Report any concerns or significant observations to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Follow protocols for infection control and prevention to maintain a safe environment.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Maintain open and effective communication with clients, their families, and the Comfort Keepers team.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
• Attend meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, Personal Support Worker (PSW), or in a related role is preferred.
• Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in clients’ lives.
• Understanding of personal care techniques, including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and infection control practices.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and the ability to handle lifting, bending, and assisting with transfers.
• Flexibility in scheduling and availability to work various shifts.
