The Mandela Rhodes Scholarship is a life-changing opportunity that would challenge you, help you grow, and connect you with other changemakers like you. Mandela Rhodes foundation scholarship combines both financial support and a leadership program that will allow you to grow and connect with others. The Scholarship offers full funding support for all the fees associated with the student’s studies. It covers one-year tuition for an honors degree or a two-year master’s degree in any field at a recognized South African institution of higher learning.

Benefits:
The scholarship is fully funded and will cover all tuition and registration costs. It also provides a monthly allowance to cover research, study materials, medical help, and meals when traveling with the economy class to and from your destination in South Africa.

Eligibility criteria:
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the Mandela Rhodes Foundation Scholarship.
- Applicants must be from Africa between the ages of 19 and 29 and possess a bachelor’s degree with above-average academic results willing to advance /her educational career in South Africa.
- Applicants must demonstrate the potential to embody the founding principles of reconciliation, education, entrepreneurship, and leadership. Applicants must have already assumed leadership and made an impact on campus or the community.
- Applicants must be willing to abide by the rules and regulations that govern the conduct of the Mandela Rhodes Foundation scholars.
- Applicants must be willing to return to their home country and impact their communities with the knowledge acquired.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you will be selected based on your potential for growth and leadership ability, you must have assumed a potential leadership role in your school or community and must be committed to developing your self-awareness by pushing yourself to learn the diversity and differences in your circle. You must equally be willing to explore and embrace the complexity within yourself and others.
Application Procedure:
(All applications run from March to November of each year)
To apply, you need to log in to the Mandela Rhodes Scholarship application site to access the application and upload the required documents and essays. Applicants are to ensure that their three referees log onto the platform to upload their recommendation letters directly as the applications cannot be submitted without the letters and will not be considered.
